So I’m not too sure how to put this delicately…so bear with me…

I’m NOT anorexic.

I eat between 1400-1500 calories a day. The amount that a doctor told me to eat. I am losing weight in a healthy manner. Eating right and exercise.

I am (still) getting emails from some people asking about “mia/ana-lifestyles.” These are the top three questions.

Q. How do you keep yourself from eating when you are starving?
A. I don’t. If I am starving, I eat. I eat healthy snack if I don’t feel like I can wait until my next meal. I manage my meals in a way that I eat 6 small meals a day, so rarely do I get that “starving” feeling.

Q. How many times a day do you purge?
A. Zero. The last time I threw up I had a stomach bug.

Q. What was your longest fast?
A. Four hours, I threatended my mom that if she didn’t get me something I wanted I would go on a hunger strike. I was 9. Other than that….no

So. Again. I am not anorexic. This is a blog for weight loss, yes, but it’s all about how I am losing weight in a healthy manner.

I have been keeping up with a 1% weight loss a week… right now that is a little under 2 pounds a week. When I hit 170ish… I”ll drop down to 1.5 pounds a week.

I know this is a sensitive subject, but I can’t (and won’t) tell anyone how to lose weight in an unhealthy way. I’m sorry I just won’t do it.

My best advice is to go seek medical help, or at least sit down and talk to someone who can help you get better.

I’m not trying to be mean about any of this…but I just wanted to say something… you know?

Get Active!

Get moving! It’s really that simple. Do whatever you want to do that is going to get your heart rate up! I know, I know….exercise is EVIL….I agree wholeheartedly. My idea of a good time is NOT working out. Getting sweaty and out of breath is not my idea of fun….as soon as I call something “exercise” I INSTANTLY hate it….but it is totally possible to exercise get active without calling it that.

I do not like exercising at all. I’m totally guilty of that. If exercising was in the form of reading a book, then I would be all set. The whole idea of exercising is just repugnant to me. The whole heavy breathing and soreness is “torture and insanity” in my language. And don’t even get me started on being sweaty. I hate sweat. If there was one bodily function that I would put a stop to, it would be sweating. But it’s a necessary evil.

You don’t have to dive into the tank of “athletic people.” You know the typical things people think of when they hear exercise. Running. Lifting weights. That kind of thing. There are so many different options out there, you are bound to find something.

Really anything! I lost my first 30 pounds by walking 1/2 hour every night. It doesn’t have to be a gym membership…but if you like the idea, then do it!. Do something that you can learn to love. Set aside time to do it! (My BIGGEST problem). Josh has a shakeweight…hurts a helluva lot, but I’m kind of addicted…. prepare for a 5k…. join a roller derby team (BTW…if anyone from my hometown is reading this…we NEED one!!!)

It really just that simple. Get active. No one cares what kind of things you do to get active. There isn’t a rule on what activities you should do, or what you shouldn’t do. My thought…as long as it burns calories…you’re in a good place.

There are so many things that you can try out. Just because you start something doesn’t mean you are stuck there forever. I tried out the gym, wasn’t too much fun (until I went with my little sister) so I don’t make a point to go. I tried out boxing, and I love it…so it’s something that I would like to continue.

Seriously….do ANYTHING!!!! Just get up and move.


Either I’ve been doing really bad or I’m starting to bloat for my period (sry guys)… I know it’s coming up soon… but the scale is reading 195… so I’ve gained a pound or bloating is on it’s way.

I added a picture from when I was weighing 220 (ish)…. I’m letting my camera charge and I’m going to upload a picture of me now at 195 (bloat I hope), wearing the same outfit.

The pants at the time were super tight in the waist (thus the lovehandles looking that bad, haha)…and the shirt was skin tight…. I literally had wet down the shirt and stretched it around the tv over night so it was looser… Haven’t worn it in a while, so we’ll see how that goes.

I’m kind of excited to see how they fit.

I’m also going to take a picture of the pants I wore ALL the time when I was weighing 245….and post that one as well…. so today is gonna be a picture takin day!!!!!

Just thought it would be interesting to see how different they fit.


Been sick :(

For the last week-ish I’ve been sick….yucky sick… now that I am feeling better I can get back to my cal counting…

These next two weigh-ins are going to be tough I think…. I have my weigh-in tomorrow and I know that I did not lose any weight this past week, I’ve been more focused on getting myself feeling better….and next weeks weigh in I should be on my period, so I’m sure I’ll be really bloated (yuck)…. so I won’t have a good weigh in until the following week…. I’ll post whats up in my calender.

Let me say this first… I am in no way getting anything from that site to talk about it. I’m not getting aid, I’m not getting anything at all… so rest assured that all of this is 100% my own personal opinion….

I love, love this site.

Like I said in my FAQ it’s easy to use…it keeps everything in order nicely. A lot of it is just point and click….

But even better than how great it is as a tool…the people there are (generally) amazing. I’ve been on CC 3 years-ish…. and the people are great.

If you have a question people are there to answer then from their own personal experiences.

If you have want to share an accomplishment, people are there to congratulate you…. and urge you to keep going…

If you have some venting to do…there are people there to vent with you, support and encourage you.

It’s great!!!!!

It’s definitely a bonus that practically every person there is on that site for the same reason as you (there are some who are there to gain weight… others who are maintaining)….. so you’ll never be alone on this.

This site helps from the beginning and well into maintaining….

I don’t know how many times someone has said something on a post I wrote that has just made my day.

Like today… one lady posted that she’s rooting for me from Jamaica!!! One gentleman said “Good to hear! I look forward to hearing about your progress”

It’s amazing… I have never met these people in person (and sadly, probably never will :'( ) But so many of them can (and have) give the encouragemernt that you can’t get from people you already have in your life.

*sigh* love it!

Oh, and CC only promotes healthy eating diets… no pro-mia/ana posting…. no unhealthy posting and such.

On that note… I have had 17 messages (thanks!!!) since starting this site…which is awesome….. 6 of these messages have been questions about Ana/Mia lifestyles…

I did not lose 62 pounds with those methods… healthy eating and exercise only. It took me 2 years to lose it…..

please don’t ask me questions about fad diets, anorexia, bulimia…. anything like that. I’m not trying to be rude but I won’t respond to any of those…. I’m trying to promote healthy weight loss.
